You must use your actual social work practice examples:
- Do not just tell beautiful stories;
Let the assessor know that you are aware of the SWRB Code of Conduct:
- Show how it is evidenced in your work;
Make sure that you identify the competencies at the side of the practice study:
- Enter the numbers in the right hand column;
Make sure that you do not identify clients:
- Remember that even if you change a person’s name but still name small towns / schools etc. the client may be identified;
- Document that you have changed identifying names;
Do not be too brief:
- The assessor needs enough information to be able to make an assessment of your competence in practice;
Ensure you give an example to demonstrate your competence to work with Maori:
- Do not just say what you know you should do;
Check your spelling:
- Especially Maori words;
Try to give a broad focus to your practise:
- Do not just give an example of using one assessment tool;
- Try to show that you understand the broader social work theory or model behind the practice;
You must submit a Continuing Professional Development log (CPD) with an application for re-certification:
- CPD log must contain reflections on your development activities;
